Common Questions
How long are appointments and how often do we meet?
An intake appointment lasts between 40-60 minutes. Together, you and Meghan will decide when to appropriately schedule a follow-up appointment. The goal is to keep you healthy, thriving, and out of the office! When initiating treatment, follow-up appointments are typically every 4-6 weeks. When you are established in care and confident in your treatment plan, appointments are every 3-6 months. All follow up appointments are scheduled for 25 minutes.
Do I have to take medication?
If appropriate, Meghan will recommend medication as part of your treatment plan. Meghan emphasizes patient education to guarantee that patients are comfortable with the medication they are prescribed. During sessions she always provides her patients with time to ask questions and vocalize concerns. She will recommend what she feels is the best treatment plan for your needs, but will never pressure you to take medication if you are not comfortable.
Do you accept insurance?
No, Resilient Minds Psychiatry NJ does not work with insurance companies. Through not working with insurance, your confidentiality is better protected. Insurance companies have full accessibility to your medical records including diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress notes. Insurance companies also have the ability to dictate which medications you are prescribed, how often you are seen by your provider, the treatments providers can recommend, if you can be seen through tele-medicine, and how long your provider spends with you in an appointment.
Many insurances offer Out of Network benefits which cover anywhere from 50-80% of the cost of the appointment. Following your appointment, you will be provided with the appropriate documentation (superbill) to conveniently submit the claim to your insurance provider.
All payments will be accepted prior to the start of your appointment. Cash, check, and all major credit cards are accepted.
What is the cancellation policy?
All appointments, for new and established patients, must be cancelled 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. All missed appointments result in a $100 fee.
Can I bring my well-behaved dog to my appointment?
Yes! Absolutely! Well-behaved dogs are welcoming to patient appointments. Their presence can provide additional comfort and support during our appointments, contributing to a more relaxed and therapeutic environment.
